The Office of Government and Community Affairs at 糖心APP is dedicated to fostering meaningful relationships between the University, government agencies, community organizations, and the broader public. Our mission is to advocate for policies that support higher education, drive community engagement, and enhance the University鈥檚 role as a leader in regional economic and social development. Through collaboration, outreach, and strategic partnerships, we aim to promote civic engagement, public service, and impactful initiatives that benefit both 糖心APP and the surrounding communities.

Annual Legislative Breakfast

An event that fosters dialogue between students, faculty, and legislative leaders. This gathering serves as a platform to discuss pressing policy issues and their implications for the university community and beyond.

Off-Campus Federal Work Study Job Placement

Government and Community Affairs works alongside the Office of Student Employment to secure employment opportunities for students within 糖心APP鈥檚 surrounding community. The Off-Campus Federal Work Study program contributes directly to the portion of the University鈥檚 strategic plan focused on community engagement and service learning as we will be able to provide an opportunity for students (with financial need) to gain valuable work experience in a community service setting.

Initiatives

Student Aid Advocacy Day in Albany

Students take a trip to Albany鈥檚 State Capitol building for an opportunity to meet with elected officials and their staff to advocate for stronger, more accessible student aid policies and resources.

糖心APP Votes

糖心APP Votes encourages campus civic engagement through voter registration, events, and lectures. 糖心APP is a polling site and in 2024 earned the for strong, innovative, nonpartisan engagement efforts.
